The Tour de France
Locals lining the streets are waving and calling out to Dr. Hofmann. He concentrates on the narrow 23km incline all the way to the top of the pass. The adrenaline is pumping; power and excitement are channelled into the bike and make him fly. Dr. Hans-Günter Hofmann, partner of Köchling-VfU GmbH, has developed a unique love and fascination for cycling. Every year he goes on a 700km long tour through Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia or France. His training and preparation phase begins once the snow has melted in March with a 2000km programme. Every year in September he sets off on a stunning seven-day tour.
In 2013 it was a Tour de France. His team of ten cycled from Valence in the Rhone valley to the Atlantic coast. Well-equipped by the BMW Racing Team the team members could rely on a best-in-class infrastructure and equipment enabling them to even conquer the Massif Central with more than 2150 energy-sapping meters in height per day. Highlight of the trip were the moments of rest and relaxation with a good glass of wine in the evening. “The feeling of being proud of your achievements and getting back on the bike full of motivation – that is simply the icing on the cake.” Unique villages and meadows, endless forests, plateaus with volcanic cones in the Auvergne and the rivers of the Dordogne with their castles stretched out in front of the cycling pros creating a link between sports and nature. “The foundation of this success is the collaboration and support within the team as well as our diligence and passion,” says Dr. Hofmann in an interview. These underlying factors are also integrated in our daily work in order to jointly celebrate progress and victories with our clients. Giving our best always and anywhere and overcoming our boundaries – that is our passion.
